On Saturday December 2nd, the Needham Business Association, ParentTalk, and the Community Center of Needham, in conjunction with the Town of Needham, are sponsoring the third annual Needham Lights from 10:00-8:00 p.m.  This annual event combines the Holiday Stroll, The Needham Business Association’s annual Blue Tree Lighting, and ParentTalk’s and the Community Center of Needham’s annual luminary celebration.  Please join in the spirit of community by participating in a variety of ways.

There are many events being planned for the day; in addition to the Blue Tree Lighting and Santa, there will be activities and entertainment in the Town Hall from 2:00-5:00 including  singers, gymnasts, dancers, soft rock band,  balloon artist, face painting, and on the Common, a fire show.  There will be hot chocolate stand to warm up the strollers throughout the afternoon and early evening.  There will be collection boxes for the Needham Firefighters’ Toys for Tots and for the Needham Community Council (we are collecting new adult scarves, gloves/mittens, and hats for adults in need).

In addition to holiday events by other organizations during the weekend, this year Saint Joe’s will be bringing back the Christmas Express train and other activities on Sunday December 3rd.  The train will leave from the Needham Center MBTA stop behind Chapel Street four times from 12 to 6. The group expects over 3000 people to enjoy the train ride and its other activities.  We hope businesses will continue to participate to support this family downtown event by being open on Sunday as well.

Won’t you participate? The more businesses participating the more likely the event will be successful.  Last year was great; this year even better.  Check off those things which indicate how you will participate and return the sheet/information to Devra G. Bailin, Needham’s Economic Development Director, in hand at 500 Dedham Avenue, via fax at 781-453-2510, via email, or call 781-455-7550 (ext. 213).  BE INCLUDED IN THE LIST OF PARTICIPATING HOLIDAY STROLL BUSINESSES:
